London film wedding photographer

Weddings are full of fleeting moments; the ones you expect and the ones you don't. My job isn't to choreograph them, but to notice them. Photographing on 35mm film, medium format and digital allows me to create images that feel honest, timeless and full of character. Whether you're planning an intimate celebration or a weekend surrounded by everyone you love, I want your photographs to feel exactly like the day itself.

Why film is perfect for wedding photos

There's something wonderfully intentional about film. Every shot has purpose. Instead of photographing thousands of images simply because I can, film encourages me to slow down and pay attention. The colours feel softer, the grain adds character and every photo carries a sense of permanence and realness that first made me fall in love with analogue photography.

London has an incredible variety of wedding venues. Town halls are some of my favourite places to take photos at, but there are also manor houses, parks and historic churches. I’m often in areas like Hackney, Brixton, Chelsea, Stoke Newington and Central London. Each has a unique style and really lends themselves to film photography. They all feel very London though.

Rather than trying to shoehorn a particular style into your wedding gallery, I’d prefer to let the location and choices you make speak for themselves.

My approach

Weddings are not photoshoots. Our job is not to take perfect photos. It’s to create a true reflection of how your day felt so you can look back on it in the most honest and heartfelt way in years to come. It needs to look and feel right.

Rather than fading into the background, I actually like to be involved so that all your guests feel completely at ease. That way, I can take photos that feel like you were right there, because I was.

Building a relationship with my couple is so important to me. The best galleries are undoubtedly from the days where we’ve had a fantastic time together.

Favourite venues

I've been fortunate enough to photograph weddings at some of London’s most beautiful venues, including The Gherkin, Chelsea Town Hall, Lambeth Town Hall, Hackney Town Hall, Clissold House, Grove House, Pitzhanger Manor and the Thames. Each offers something completely different, but all lend themselves beautifully to the timeless qualities of film photography.

As well as the venues themselves, London lends itself to street wedding photography. Red buses, taxis, architecture - it all feels so London. I love including elements of that busyness and buzz that comes with getting married in the centre of town.
